Hoping for a successful business sale? This weekend I had to “hit the brakes” when confronted with a reminder of why we do what we do at Exit Oasis.
I’ve spent the year helping small business owners answer the question “Will I be able to sell my small business?” So, when I drove by the sign pictured above I took a moment to stop and snap a picture.
I don’t know the story, but experience tells me it’s not a happy one. I thought about visiting the sale to learn the background, thinking maybe it would offer me something to write about. But standing in front of the sign I became sad, and a little nauseous – and honestly, I didn’t want to know the details.
The statistics are clear, for small business owners, a successful sale is not the likely outcome, but it doesn’t have to end this way.
Don’t put yourself in a position where you need to make a sign like this.
